London's Hot Venues & Hotels

Ah, London… don’t you just love it? There’s not much that could dampen our love for “The Big Smoke”, but one of the things we love most is that the city is ever-changing, and every year there seems to be a new air about it (No, that wasn’t a reference to pollution). Year on year we see a plethora of new establishments pop up out of, what seems to be, nowhere (I mean seriously, where are they getting all this room from?!) and 2017 is no different.

We’ve done a little round-up of all the new openings of hotels, venues and restaurants that we’re most excited about.

Get your “To-Do” list out, because you’re gonna need it!

Hotels

Just when you thought the opulence of London hotels couldn’t increase anymore, 2017 comes along with an extravagant punch! Luxury accommodation in London just got more luxe.

Four Seasons at Ten Trinity Square

One of the most iconic buildings in the City of London, Ten Trinity Square, has been matched with one of the most iconic hotel groups in the world, Four Seasons. The hotel group have recently transformed it into an alluring establishment which opened its doors merely weeks ago in early 2017. With 100 guest rooms and suites, two restaurants, bars, meeting salons and a spa, the hotel is definitely one of the more ornate of London’s precursory Four Seasons. The heart of the hotel houses a bar and all-day dining room under the original domed ceiling – beautifully restored after heavy bombing during World War II.

#PGTopTip: With two ballrooms and three meeting rooms, it is also a very chic event or wedding venue.

The Ned

The masterminds behind Soho House and Sydell Group, (who already have 17 members’ clubs, 37 restaurants and 7 hotels between them) set out on a mission to open a hotel within the former Midland Bank building designed by Sir Edwin ‘Ned’ Lutyens in 1924. With 252 bedrooms, the hotel, due to open in spring 2017, has been designed with a 1920s and 1930s, Gatsby-esque vibe! Note this, hotel stayers – staying here wont be easy if you’re terrible at making decisions about food, with nine restaurants spanning a wide range of cuisine, from North Italian to Asian, you’re going to want 9 nights here just to try them all! Of course in true “Soho House” style, the exclusive Ned’s Club will only be available to members and will feature a spectacular rooftop with panoramic London views as well as a pool and bar. #YESPLEASE.

The Nobu Hotel, Shoreditch

No words… there are honestly no words. All we can say is, Nobu Matsuhisa, thank you for choosing London. That is all. No but seriously, as the brand’s first European hotel, Nobu Shoreditch will be an outstanding addition to the increasingly trendy East London hotel scene. The hotel’s design will of course reflect its city of origin, as well as including the perfect execution of East-meets-West décor, both of which are quintessential traits of the brand. It’s expected to open in spring 2017 with 150 hotel rooms as well as a large restaurant and an outdoor courtyard. This one is at the top of our hit list – See you there!

The LaLiT

Located in a Grade II listed Victorian building that originally housed St Olave’s Grammar School, The Lalit London is a brand new luxury boutique hotel which features 70 beautifully designed rooms, each ornamented with bespoke Indian art. There’s an Indian restaurant named Baluchi alongside a cocktail bar in what was once the governors’ room and even an outdoor terrace space, perfect for those London summer nights. Don’t worry about getting sent to the Headmaster’s office as it is now a lavish suite!

London’s hotel scene has well and truly been “schooled” (‘scuse the pun).

Venues & Restaurants

Nothing creates that event buzz like an exciting new venue, because every guest loves to be the first to experience it! London is home to some of the world’s best venues and there is always something new to experience – Check out our #fave “new-born” London venues in 2017.

Aviary

Who doesn’t love a rooftop bar? Nothing beats city skylines and botanic themed cocktails and as far as venue spaces go, they are always at their zenith in London’s summertime. With London’s ever-changing climate the opening of a new destination is always welcome, (step aside Radio Rooftop, there’s a new bird in town).Perched on top of the Montcalm Hotel in Finsbury Square, Aviary will have some of the most favourable views across the city. The rooftop features an impressive central bar so it is no surprise that Londoners are set to “flock” to this breathtaking venue in the summer months. #PGTopTip: Don’t let the crowds ruffle your feathers, contact us to get your group booked in ahead of time!

58VE

Its not often that you get real “blank canvas” space, especially in London, but if that’s exactly what you’re looking for then 58VE is perfect for a variety of events. Both contemporary and versatile, the event space can be used as one space for larger events or split into different areas to suit your requirements. You already know that here at PG we love a rooftop, so the lounge and terrace on the sixth floor with views overlooking the River Thames and London’s skyline is a real winner for us, but it also makes it the perfect space for summer parties or an after conference drink!

The Postal Museum

70ft beneath the streets of London, lies the city’s best kept secret. After 75 years of being under wraps, the Postal Museum and Mail Rail is due to be unveiled in spring 2017 and it promises to offer some truly remarkable venue spaces (if you’re not claustrophobic). The tunnels are very versatile in that they can be used in different ways for a varied number of events! You can even take a journey on the passenger trains underneath the streets of London for a truly unique experience. Definitely a rare venue for London, a true hidden gem.

SUSHISAMBA at Covent Garden

Scared of heights but want to see what all the hype is about? Your foodie prayers have been answered; SUSHISAMBA brings its Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian fusion menu to the safe haven of London’s West End in Covent Garden! You won’t have the height of Heron Tower but that doesn’t mean you will have to sacrifice on the views. The rooftop views across the Piazza will be stunning and who can resist the quirky new dishes – not us.

Bob Bob Exchange

“The Cheese Grater building” is soon to be the newest whereabouts for the sister restaurant to Soho’s famous Bob Bob Ricard called Bob Bob Exchange (BBX). Its going to “Brie” amazing! (couldn’t resist). It will be located on the third floor of the skyscraper and will feature a main restaurant, a sashimi bar and a beautiful private dining room split into Standard and Executive class. Yes, the signature “Press for Champagne” buttons will definitely be present.
